Lake Geneva Trip

Grandpa and Grandma Ketchpaw

I took Kade, Garrett and Crew on a little trip to Wisconsin to meet their great Grandpa and Grandma. They met Kade and Garrett when they were really little but, they've never met Crew. None of the boys remembered them. It was a surprise for my grandpa. Tag, unfortunately didn't get to go because he had football practice.

We flew in on Wednesday and went to my Grandpa's house to surprise him. GG went up to the front door and rang the doorbell. He knew right away who they were. All my aunts and uncles were there and we had a big BBQ.

The next day, we went to the Dells with my Aunt Lisa. We spent the day at Noah's Ark which is probably 4 times bigger than 7-peaks. The boys had a blast.

My aunt's daughter Brittany, stayed home for a couple of days before heading off to college,
to spend some time with us. You can't see the door, but that was where the boy's and I stayed. Lisa decorated the door really cute with a sign that said "The Baxter Motel" GG said it was the best motel ever! It had a pool table, Foosball table, a giant T.V., and a cool uncle who would challenge them to a pool game every chance he got.

Lady of the Lake

Grandma and Lisa took us on a boat tour around Lake Geneva. It was really cool to see all the mansions around the lake and hear the stories behind them.

Lake Geneva

We spent a day at the lake. The boys loved it. It felt just like we were playing in the ocean.
They found snails and crab claws.
Kaden didn't go to the lake that day because his Uncle Mike took him to a Brewers game. He had such a great time and came back with a Brewer's t-shirt and hat.

This is my aunts store, Geneva Gifts. They make the most fabulous fudge EVER!

It was the Venetian Festival this week, and they ended it with a big lighted boat parade and fireworks over the lake. We ate entirely too many funnel cakes and grilled corn on the cob. But, hey it's vacation right? My uncle Mike was on patrol that night and kept the kids entertained by handcuffing them together.

A Day With Grandma and Grandpa

Grandma and Grandpa spent a whole day with us. We had a picnic at the park and then went swimming. Garrett's swimming lessons paid off and he went off the diving board, numerous times.

Ha! Another Baxter boy who has the tongue thing going.....

We spent our last night at my Uncle Mark's house. As you can see by the pictures, he has a beautiful home and it's nestled back in acres of trees. We saw some wild turkey and who would have known that they actually can fly up into trees and roost!

Uncle Mike

My Uncle Mike, is the Assistant Chief of Police for Lake Geneva. We spent our last day with him while he gave us a tour of the police station. The boys were enthralled, to say the least, by all the "toys" that police officers have. All the detectives and sargeants were more than happy to show the boys all the weapons they have and how they work.

He showed them their SWAT truck and the boys got to experience how heavy all their gear is.
Lisa is hiding behind Crew to hold that heavy hat on his head.

Wow, they even have their own stash of Harley's!

They went into the booking department where Kim works and he hand cuffed them to the bench.

Thanks, Uncle Mike! We love you. Not only are you a great policeman, but you coach HS wrestling and Football. We hope that someday you can come visit us in Utah.

Wow, I guess you really did do a lot while here on your little visit to Wisconsin. Great pictures! I'm glad you and the kids had so much fun. We sure enjoyed your visit and are looking forward to visiting you guys as well. Hopefully, sometime during wrestling season, if it works out, because Uncle Mike would love to see the kids wrestle! I always love reading your blog, you do such a great job at it. Take care and miss you guys.
