Phoenix Zoo

Another stop during our Spring Break Vacation was the Phoenix Zoo. The boys love to go to the zoo here but the trick is to leave really early in the morning otherwise you are sweating bullets before you get through the gate.

They have the coolest bridge that you have to cross to get to the entrance. The water is full of turtles. I think we could just stay there all day and then go home and the boys would be fine.

They had a monkey exhibit where you could walk right in and interact with them. Tag was getting some great shots with his cell phone and the monkey kept getting closer to him. The lady had to stop him because she said the monkeys have been know to steal cell phones and throw them into the water.
We ended our day at the splash pool. The older boys were to "cool" to play and Garrett couldn't decide which side of the fence he was on. Crew had a blast.

It Looks Like A Bat...

For some reason, Jared thinks that golfing will mess up your swing. Your bat swing that is. My boys have never really experienced the joy of real golfing. As fate would have it they would probably strike out at their next game and I would hear about it for years. I for one, would much rather ride in the golf cart drinking an ice cold Pepsi and watch others try to hit a tiny ball into an even tinier hole miles down the course. But, one thing we all love to do is play miniature golf. Once the boys realize that you don't hit the ball like a baseball, they do rather well.

Squaw Peak Resort

The first resort we stayed at was Squaw Peak. We have stayed here before and we love the fact that it has two rooms. They have a lazy river and a waterslide. They also have miniature golf. The first night there Tag and Kade shared the couch bed downstairs. Tag was complaining about the side he was sleeping on for some reason and made Kade trade with him. Well, about 2 in the morning I hear Tag call out my name. I run downstairs and Tag is standing in the middle of the room with PUKE all over him! Kade is in the bathroom and there is puke all over the floor and all over the sheets. So, what do I do? I start laughing hysterically. Tag is in tears and I am telling him it's his own fault for trading sides with Kade. Kade had to climb over him in the dark to try and get out of the bed. Well, I roll up the sheets and throw them outside in the bushes to be delt with in the morning. I get Kade settled down and go back upstairs willing myself and my family to NOT get sick. Thank goodness none of us did and Kade was just fine the next day.

Spring Break Surprise

This year for spring break we told the boys that we were going up to Tremonton for a couple of days to clean up grandpa's yard before they come home from Africa. We started heading South and the boys were intensely preoccupied with their Ipods, Nintendo's and movies. They didn't even notice that something was up until we arrived here.

We made it all the way to St. George before the boys even realized that we weren't going to grandpa's! Our first stop was of course IN-N-OUT burger. After we filled little boys bellies, we started off towards Las Vegas. This is where we came up on the Hoover Dam. Every time we get to this point on our journey, it is always late at night. Jared makes all the boys get out of the car and scare their mom to death by hanging over the edge.

Then we were off to Arizona.

We stopped at a friends house where we showered and cleaned up. Garrett was so amazed that grapefruit actually grew on a tree and picked a whole bag to take home. Our first stop of the day was Chase field where we took in a Diamondbacks game. They were playing the Pirates and scored 11 points in one inning. Needless to say, the game was pretty boring but the food was delicious. Who would turn down garlic fries and lemonade. They gave all the boys little Webkinz dogs and Garrett and Crew were in heaven.

Garrett's First Grade Program

A Sailors life for me

That's all I want to be

Just me and you

And a motley crew

On the open sea

Yo Ho Yo Ho

A sailors life for me

A sailor I am not

Unless the boats a yacht

Just me and you

And a motley crew

On the open sea

You swab the deck dear

And trim the sail

You Swab your deck dear

And work like a man

I'd gladly help dear

I'd rather get a tan

Yo Ho Yo Ho

A sailors life for me

Happy Easter

This is what we woke up to on Easter morning.

The Easter Bunny was very tricky this year and the boys had a hard time finding their baskets. It was well worth the effort though. We almost got out the Christmas plates for dinner. Let's hope that Spring gets here quick!
