Pirate Party!!

A PiRaTe'S LiFe FoR Me.......
Skyler and Garrett had a combined birthday party this year. Their birthday's are within days of each other.

We started off with a pirate map that took the boys all over our fishpond.

They had to "walk the plank"

Toss rings on a pirate ship.

Have a real pirate sword fight....

And dig for pirate "booty". Jen buried the treasure the night before and even put an X over the spot. Unfortunately, it had rained the night before, and washed away our markings. The boys dug and dug and we didn't find the treasure until a couple of days later when we borrowed a metal detector from a friend.

We had a treasure chest pinata that we hung from the bridge...

Then it was off to my house for more adventure..

We rented this blow up toy and the boys loved it..

Everybody got a water launcher for a prize..

Garrett and Skyler both got matching water guns..

All in all, a very successful day for two very best friends...

Garrett's Birthday

Garrett Gideon Baxter

Garrett was having a birthday party in a couple of days but we still wanted to make his day special. So, I asked him what he wanted to do. His reponse was to go to Chili's and eat the Chocolate Molten Cake all by himself. So, that's what we did. He also took Grandma's birthday money and went to find an X-Box game. He really wanted a Rayman Rabbids game, but the one he wanted was an old one. I took a chance and went to Game Stop where we happened to find the only one! Best thing was that it was only 12$ so he was able to buy something else.

Baseball Fever

Garrett Gideon
The hit...

Look mom! I made it to first.

I think I'm going to steal this next base. My brothers do it all the time.

Come on, come on.....I'm almost home.

Wow, look at that slide. Mom loves dirty baseball pants.

Here's my team. I may be small. But, as I always like to say. TNT! I'm DYNAMITE!!

And, as always, life's moments are so much sweeter when shared with my bestest friend.

Last day of school....

Kade's two best buddies. Grayson and Kallin. Notice how much taller he is!
Kade's teacher, Mr. Lowther. By far, the most awesomest teacher ever! I don't think Kade will ever have another teacher that made as big of an impact on his life as he did. He is reponsible for Kade's love of reading. A priceless gift.

The boys had fun on the last day of school. They bigger boys challenged the younger one to a game of baseball and then wiffle ball. They ate pizza and then went over to the Henderson's to swim. Here are your future freshman. Scary.....

Garrett's Bike Parade

So, I have a confession to make. I have a son who has inherited one of my less desirable traits. He is STUBBORN. Now, in most families, the younger siblings learn and accomplish things at a faster pace than their older siblings. I hear this might be due to the fact that they want to be just like them. Well, I have a 6 year old that could care less. I hate to admit that he just barely learned to ride a two wheeler. Yes, I begged, bribed, teased, yelled and anything else I could think of to get him on that bike. He didn't care. He had a scooter and in his world, that's all one needed to get around. Two weeks before the bike parade he decided he was ready and within half an hour he was wobbling around our cul-de-sac. Then... he was done. So the bike parade comes up and he wants to take his bike. I am about to try and convince him to take his scooter but I kept quiet and that morning I take him and his bike to school.
This is when..20 minutes before the parade begins, he informs me that his bike is suppose to be decorated! So, I run to the store and get some flags and balloons and run back to put them on his bike.

He was SO excited and after a wobbly start he was off and running. Next goal, to get him further than the lift line at Park City Mountain!
