I'm going back to Cali.....

For my birthday, I went to California for three days with my friends Elysa, Heidi and Merrie. We ate entirely too much food but had a fabulous time and managed to fit a lot into the three days we were there.

Our main reason for going was to see Ellen. She has a process for distributing tickets similar to the Christmas Program at the temple. You sign up by email and they randomly draw your name. You then are allowed four tickets. You don't even get to pick the day you want to go. She is already booked for her entire season. When you get there they take your ID because you are only allowed to go once per season. Ellen was amazing. We saw Mario Lopez and won a years supply of contact solution...WOOT, WOOT !

We also got tickets to the Jay Leno show and saw Mel Gibson
and the trainer from the Biggest Loser. You don't have to get tickets in advance but you do have to line up early because once it's filled they will turn you away.

We just happened to be down by the Kodak Theater and ran into the world premier of When In Rome. We were able to stand across the street and saw a lot of famous people.

Napoleon Dynamite

Josh Dashmel and his costar. Dang, no Fergi. Also saw Don Johnson and Megan Fox but couldn't get a clear picture of them. Much to Tag's dismay. I got quite a few pictures of people that I have no idea who they are but I thought they might be someone special. Oh, well. Thanks friends, had a great time!

Snowboarding

Kade and I headed up to Park City for some fun in the new snow. Kade assured me that he knew this resort like the back of his hand. He took me up a lift I had never been on and as we get to the end he warns me that the drop on this particular lift is a little steep and to please not crash into him. So, of course, I am all nervous and as we get off the lift I crash and fall on the back of my head..hard! All Kader can do is stand there and laugh at me. I guess Jared is right when he insists that I wear my dorky helmet. So dorky in fact that you will never see me in a picture of it! Why can't I be one of those cute girls with the darling hats and headbands? Anyhow, we got lost right away and had to call Tag to find our way back down the mountain. Kade is my type of snowboarder...board a little, hot chocolate break, board a little more, lunch break, board a little more and take off for home stopping at Maverick to get a big Diet Pepsi and a Vitamin Water. Yep, my kind of guy.

Wasatch Dual

Kade took home his second gold medal this month. He had to wrestle a boy that is in his class at school. I got mad at him because they were wrestling around waiting for their match and Kade was letting this boy put him in a cradle and pinning him. Kade informed me that he was "letting" this boy do this to him to "psyche" him out. Well it worked and he ended up pinning the kid.!

Entertaining a two year old for eight hours is not an easy thing to do. Of course Skittles and a cute three year old seemed to do the trick this time! He even spread out his favorite blankie and shared it with her.

Tag spent the last half of the day reffing for the pre-k through 5th grade matches. He did an amazing job. He is so good to the boys and would take time to talk to them and know their names. He had numerous coaches tell him that he was very professional. Usually, I hate when he refs because parents are sure to blame these boys for their boys losing but he didn't even have one parent yell at him.

Garrett didn't want to wrestle this year but he sure had a great time being the towel boy. Every time the period was over, GG got to run out on the mat and whack the ref on the butt. He thought it was so hilarious.

So what I'm still a Rock Star!

It was my friend Carrie's birthday and we had a surprise party for her at my house. The food was awesome, as it always is,and we all sent our kids over to Carries that night to play and hopefully not destroy her house. Around 10 everyone starts heading upstairs to play Rockband. I thought for sure the fun would last about an hour but we all ended up playing until about 1:30 in the morning. It was so fun to play with grown ups and not have to compete with the kids. The funniest thing was that the guys actually liked playing Lego Rockband better than the real one! We went to pick up the boys and they were all asleep in a dogpile with their friends. Rock ON!

Happy New Year!

This year, we spent New Years day in Logan with Jared's side of the family. Josie was able to reserve The Peak for a couple of hours for our kids to run, jump, scream, leap, and basically wear themselves out. They had a zip line there that Hazel had been down a couple of times and Crew was pretty sure he could follow in her footsteps. Thanks to a couple of great Uncles, he went for it. Although, he was hanging on by the tips of his fingers, he made it all the way to the end, only to get up and want to do it again. He was quite enjoying himself until his dad showed up and after seeing him decided that he should

do it from all the way back instead of just halfway. Always challenging his boys, I thought this was a little extreme. But, I was proven wrong and with all of us standing at intervals to make sure he would be caught if he dropped, he made it all the way to the end and after that there was no stopping that kid! Well, we ended the day by going out to eat at Maddox with the adults. It was a great way to start off the new year. Thanks, Josie for letting us come up to your stomping grounds this weekend.

Merry Christmas!

Crew really loved Christmas this year. He had so much fun opening his presents and showing everyone what he got.
Garrett and his stash. He only wanted two things this year..legos and video games. Well, Santa didn't disappoint. However, if I had known how much time I would spend deciphering lego directions I might have talked Santa out of them.

Tag got his I-touch and a ping-pong table.

Kade wanted everything New York Yankees, Santa truly does exist he says because he KNOWS his dad would never buy him anything having to do with the enemy team. Below, is Tag and Kade in their rival jerseys.
We spent a relaxing day at home eating and playing. Wish everyday could be like this.
